Healthy People Needed for Brain Imaging Study

We are currently seeking volunteers to participate in a research study
investigating brain activity related to prolonged pain in pain-free
healthy subjects. This study is being conducted at the University of
Maryland Baltimore.
Are you 18 or older? No history of chronic pain?
If you answered "yes" to these questions then you may be eligible to
participate in our study
As a volunteer you will participate in four sessions of about 1 hour each.
Each visit will include:
~ Screening and a drug test (urine sample) (visit 1) ~ An MRI of your
brain (visits 2-4)
~ Pain testing using a model of skin sensitization (all visits)
All records will be kept strictly confidential. You will be compensated
for your time and will receive a CD of your brain
MRI.

Do you Drink Alcohol?

Daily or Almost Daily?
We are seeking men and women between the ages of 21 and 60 to study
whether a medication for smoking cessation (CHANTIX™) may affect
drinking (NIH Study #08-AA-0137). Volunteers should be healthy and
drug-free. There are no charges for
study related tests and evaluations. Qualified subjects will be
reimbursed for their participation.
The study lasts nine weeks and requires five outpatient and one
overnight visits at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in
Bethesda MD.

How do children remember

Participants needed for study on memory brain development
Who can help? Children 3-12 years of age.
What would my child be doing? Children will be asked to complete memory
games/activities. During some games we may record their brain activity.
This is very safe and you may remain with child at all times.
When could I bring my child? We offer weekday and weekend appointments.
Depending on the study your child is eligible for would either come in
for 1-3 visits.

UMD Do you suffer from Migraine Headaches?


We are currently recruiting participants I for a brain imaging study on
the effects I of meditation for migraine.
Meditation can have a variety of health benefits but can be hard to
master. Take a "break from everyday life and enrich yourself by I
learning meditation from professional trainers with an intensive group
retreat. You will also participate in up to 3 brain imaging (M sessions
at University of Maryland, where|SB| will perform a cognitive task and
we will test your pain thresholds.
The MRI sessions will be approximately 2 hours. You will be compensated
for your | time and will receive a CD of your brain
If you are 18 years of age or older and experience at C least 4
