MIGHT YOU RESPOND TO MEDICATION DIFFERENTLY BASED ON YOUR GENETIC MAKEUP?

Help us find out if your genes determine how you respond to a commonly
prescribed insulin sensitizing medication.
This is a 6-month study where healthy volunteers will take pioglitazone
(Actos) for 12 weeks, followed by a 10-week weight management program.
Before and after treatment you will undergo tests to see how well your
body utilizes glucose (sugar).
Are you between 35-64 years old, White, 20% or greater overweight, and
do not have diabetes?
